The Dentists Who Lead Your Team

Dr. Jason was born and raised in Reno and is a 4th generation Nevadan. He joined his father’s practice in 2003 and welcomed his brother in 2004. He received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Nevada, Reno and his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the University of Louisville. Dentistry is one of the passions in Dr. Jason’s life, and the other is his family. He loves being outside with his wife Lynsey and their 3 children Addison, Sawyer, and Colin. Sharing his love for the Sierra Nevada Mountains with his family is how much of their time is spent, and they can be found most weekends exploring the local mountains beauty. Their favorite vacation place is the Florida Keys and the enjoyment of both the Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Mexico. Dr. Jason also enjoys mountain biking, skiing, golfing, exercise, and travel.

Dr. Jason focuses on implant, cosmetic and family dentistry in a warm and friendly environment. He is zealous about staying on the cutting edge of dentistry and has proven this by becoming a Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry and a Fellow in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. Less than one percent of dentists in the United States have received these distinctions. Through this commitment Dr. Jason has learned the latest techniques in implants, cosmetics, and lasers. Dr. Jason is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Nevada Dental Association, the Northern Nevada Dental Society, and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.

Not only is Dr. Jason interested in his education, but enjoys educating others as well. He and his brother have been teaching dentists and other medical professionals from all over the United States, Canada, and Europe on how to improve their patient care since 2011. He also has been featured several times on News Channel 8 Health Watch and in the Reno Gazette Journal. Teaching children the value of good oral health is something he believes is incredibly important and each February he volunteers his time to teach elementary students at local schools.

Dr. Todd was born and raised in Reno and is a fourth generation Nevadan. Dr. Todd received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Nevada Reno. He followed his family’s legacy and attended the University of Louisville, a school that graduated his brother, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Dr. Todd prides himself on making all his patients feel comfortable while in his dental chair. He loves people and welcomes the opportunity to have small children to older adults in his practice. Dr. Todd continues to stay up to date on the latest trends in dentistry and has recently been admitted as a fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry. He stays up to date by completing over the required continuing education requirements, in an effort to provide Nevadans with the most comfortable dental practice and techniques possible. Dr. Todd is an active member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, Nevada Dental Association, Northern Nevada Dental Society and the International Congress of Oral Implantology. He participates in the Northern Nevada Dental Health Program which offers dental care to children in need. He educates local elementary students on dental health and has been featured on news channel 8’s medical minutes for the current trends in dentistry. Dr. Todd is proud to be a Nevadan and happily makes his home here with his two children Luke and Gwen and his wife Tara. In his spare time he enjoys the Nevada outdoors, photography and spending time with his family.

Dr. Josh was born and raised in Reno and attended Bishop Manogue High School. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Nevada, Reno and his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the UNLV School of Dental Medicine. He is the first in his family to obtain a degree in the field of dentistry. Dr. Josh is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Nevada Dental Association, the Northern Nevada Dental Society, and the Academy of General Dentistry. I just love my new veneers! Before my veneers, I was self-conscious about my smile. I didn’t like taking pictures up close at all because of my gaps. I never liked when someone would snap a random picture of my laughing or something, because my gaps to me were so noticeable. Jim, our lab guy, did such an amazing job on my new veneers. You can’t even tell that they are veneers! The match perfectly! Dr. Todd was awesome; he made me feel comfortable and excited for my new smile. I couldn’t be happier with them. Now I smile a lot more, and I don’t feel self-conscious about my smile. Never in my life, I thought I could have a beautiful smile. Thank you Dr. Todd, Jim, and Heather for making my smile perfect. =]

Congratulations Leticia!

Leticia decided to do 6 month smiles (adult braces) because she wanted to fix one tooth that was making her self conscious about her smile.

As she said,

I wouldn’t smile as much and I love to smile and laugh. It was just sad. In photos I would smile with my mouth closed, but not anymore. I love it and am so excited.

According to Leticia, a friend of hers didn’t even realize she had braces on until a week ago.

At Sala Family Dentistry, we have a patient, Daniel “Danny” Clark who is quite special to us. He has been a patient since 1974 and has always done his treatment, paid his bills, etc. He is a joy to be around and loves to smile.

Five years ago Danny was diagnosed with an immune system disease, Sjornd’s Syndrome, which causes severe dry mouth that has eaten away at his teeth. We have been trying for 3 years to get his medical insurance to pay because it is a medical condition and despite our several appeals, they have continued to deny coverage.

In December, Danny was selected to be the next *Sala Star.

As Danny put it best,

“I am so happy that people actually see me for who I am now. I have my smile back and I love to smile. I want to express my gratitude to everyone in the office for helping me. We can’t express the happiness you have given us.”

Thank you Danny for always putting a smile on our face in the office! We are lucky to have 3 generations of Clark family members as patients.

*Sala Stars are members of our community nominated by our patients to receive complimentary dental care!

As a child, Justin didn’t have the opportunity to have proper dental care and as a result had a “less than perfect smile,” as he describes it. He came to Sala Family Dentistry asking for some advice on how to fix an abscessed tooth that caused him great pain.

It was then that Dr.’s Jason and Todd gave Justin what he describes as, “his greatest gift.” They offered to fix his smile. As Justin says, “I have never been given a gift like that. Something for your health is a priceless gift and the fact that they wanted nothing in return shows you how generous they are. It really gives you hope in humanity again.”

Justin has continued to “Pay it forward” by creating videos, for a local restaurant, to help raise awareness of the homeless in Reno. Last year he also produced a video and built an entire website for the No Tahoe Biomass Plant Movement. With his help, the plans to build a biomass burning facility just a few blocks away from an elementary school in Kings Beach were cancelled.

According to Justin, “I had a life changing opportunity by an amazing office. These are some of the nicest people I have ever met from start to finish. Plus their work is top notch.” More than anything, Justin is excited to show off his new smile at his wedding in September!
