Third generation Nevadan, Dr. Michael Sala started his dental practice in Reno in 1974.  From the beginning, the mission for the practice was “extraordinary caring people — staff, patients, and community.”  That virtue continues to this day as the torch passed to his sons, Doctors Jason and Todd and is reflected in the mission statement of Sala Family Dentistry today, “Caring people, Caring for people.”

The Sala’s have been caring for the community for years by donating dentistry through various organizations like, The Northern Nevada Dental Society, and Dentistry From the Heart. Dentistry From the Heart provided free dental services in 2009 and 2010 to hundreds of members of the community.

The Sala’s have also had patients of the practice nominate candidates to receive free dental care. It has been through these donations that they have been able to see the positive impact that it has had on the community and it has inspired them to do something that has a larger impact on the community.

This is where the idea of the pay it forward challenge was born. Sala Family Dentistry would like to have the community nominate upstanding members of the community to receive full mouth restoration! They will be choosing two people to receive these services and in return they will pay it forward. The forward payment of kindness need not be of monetary value, but of kindness.

Sala Family Dentistry hopes that this will inspire other businesses and members of the community to do random acts of kindness and report them on the Pay it Forward Blog so that the kindness can be tracked and reported on! So get your ideas together and start spreading goodwill! Don’t forget to take pictures and video of the effect you had on the community! No good deed is too small to make an impact!
