7th Annual Smiles for FREEdom: May 13th

Smiles for FREEdom is a nonprofit organization serving veterans and active service members across the nation since 2015. Dental offices across the country partake in hosting the event, where veterans and active military and their families can come and receive free dental care. Smiles for FREEdom is growing every year, and we’re excited to be a major part of the program!

History of the Event

We’re very proud and honored to have hosted the organization’s first event here at Sala Family Dentistry back on May 8, 2015, as Smiles for FREEdom was founded by our very own hygienist, Kandice! Since then, it has reached 14 different states, served over 748 veterans, active military, and their families, and has provided over $1,010,000 in free dental care. Events have taken place in Nevada, Georgia, California, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa, Alabama, Montana, and South Dakota. 

Event Information

This year the event takes place at Sala Family Dentistry on Friday, May 13th, marking the 7th annual Smile for Freedom event here at Sala! It’s a day we’re proud to give back to the people in our Reno and Sparks community who have served our country by offering them 100% free dental care. Last year Sala Family Dentistry provided over $85,000 in dental services, and we’re excited to host such an amazing event again this year.

How It’s Possible

Smiles for FREEdom is possible because of the people who step up as volunteers, dental providers, and provide donations so we can continue to give back to the community who have served us. Volunteers include specialists, dentists, registered dental hygienists, assistants, and administrative staff who share the goal of providing quality dental care to the people who risked so much for us.

Our mission at Sala Family Dentistry is to give back to our community, and Smiles for FREEdom is an amazing opportunity to provide happier and healthier smiles to our Reno and Sparks family who have given so much.
